How many solar panels can I put on my CMS 2000 inverter?
The maximum recommended array size is 2400 watts.
What is the minimum number of solar panels needed to use on a CMS 10 000 inverter?
The minimum switch on voltage is 350V DC.
How many maximum power point trackers do CMS inverters have?
The CMS 2000 inverter has one maximum power point tracker. The CMS 10 000 inverter has three maximum power point trackers.
Is the CMS 10 000 a single phase inverter?
No, the CMS 10 000 is a three phase inverter and cannot be used as a single phase inverter.
What sort of logging software is available on CMS inverters?
The CMS 2000 and CMS 10 000 can be connected to a PC via a serial cable or to a network using Ezi Logger.
Why does my CMS inverter go into grid vault intermittently?
This message will be displayed when the voltage (being produced by the inverter) is outside of the inverters operating range. It will most often occur at the upper voltage limit of the inverter, which is preset at 264 VAC.
The power being produced by the inverter must travel to a load to be consumed. For this to happen the voltage being produced by the inverter must be at a higher potential than the grid to allow current flow. The impedance of the line from the inverter to the load plays a big role in the voltage lead required. If all of the power a solar system is producing only has to travel a short distance to a load, the voltage from the inverter may only be one volt higher than the grid. eg. if the load is 200 metres away and power is travelling through a high impedance line (small cable size), the voltage increase will be quite high to maintain the difference in potential and could put the inverter outside its oprating range.
How does the panel warranty work?
All solar panels have a 25 year efficiency warranty (10 years 90% efficiency and 25 years at 80% efficiency) and a 5 year product warranty. If there are any faults or failures due to poor manufacture, CMS will replace the panel.
All CMS inverters come with a minimum 5 year warranty (CMS 10 000 has a 10 year warranty standard). The CMS inverter warranty can be claimed via a back to base process. Extended warranty is also available, with warranty cards being posted on the website.
What is the process for repairing or returning faulty solar products which are still under warranty?
Currently CMS have a service technician who will conduct onsite repairs or replacements where appropriate within NSW. All other states will be sent replacement solar products. A service technician will be available for other states in the coming months. Service terms and conditions may apply.
Where are the solar panels made?
CMS have exclusive rights to sell Solar Enertech solar panels in Australia. Solar Enertech is a Californian based company who manufacture their panels out of Shanghai, China.
The CMS 2000 and CMS 10 000 inverters are manufactured in Taiwan.
Will I require additional components if I use more than one inverter in a kit?
Yes, when using multiple inverters in a kit, for example you have ordered a 4kW kit and are substituting 2 x CMS 2000 inverters, additional components will be required. Please ensure that all items are included on your Sales Quote before processing with payment for your order.
You can obtain an account application form from our accounts department. Before your account application is considered, we do require that you have at least 3 months trading history with us. Once your application is processed we will send an email to advise of the outcome and if successful, your terms of trade and credit limit. We offer 7 and 14 day accounts only.
Do you have discounts for bulk ordering?
CMS wholesale prices are fixed for all solar power installers and there are no bulk ordering discounts.
Can I register with you if I am a wholesaler wishing to on-sell your products?
CMS does not use on sellers, with the exception of Solar Online Australia. We are a solar power wholesale company looking to sell to solar power installers.
How do I register to purchase from your company?
CMS has a user-friendly form to complete on our website. We require that certification and proof of accreditation is uploaded onto our registration page. Please note that it takes up to 48 hours to process registrations.
What inverters fit into what enclosures?
The CMS 2000 is designed to fit into a 600 x 600 enclosure. The CMS 10 000 is designed so that it does not require an enclosure as it is IP65.
Do you have a technician I can speak with?
A CMS technician is available via phone or email, if you require additional support. Our technician is a fully qualified electrician, solar power installer and is trained in all CMS solar power products.
